Organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Philippines and DOT Western Visayas, this event is the inaugural leg of a four-part circuit that will traverse various locations in the Visayas region—Sipalay City, Sicogon Island, Taklong Island (Guimaras), and Boracay Island.
More than a competition, this event is a commitment to Sustainable Development Goal #11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, reflecting the shared vision of both departments. International Open Water Swim Circuit basically comprises of 4 unique legs – encompassing Sipalay City, Sicogon Island, Taklong Island (Guimaras), and Boracay Island. Additionally, participants can select their challenge from three distances—1.5 KM, 3 KM, or 5 KM—each offering a unique test of skill and endurance.
For those seeking an even greater challenge, participants can register for any of the four legs, including Sipalay City, Sicogon Island, Taklong Island (Guimaras), and Boracay Island. Registering for all four legs earns participants the prestigious title of KATAU, the ruler of the kingdom bantay dagat.
